Adding a hot tub to your second Honolulu home will make it more attractive to vacationers. On average rental homes without hot tubs yield $14,000 less than homes with hot tubs. A hot tub will pay for itself many times over, despite the up-front cost.

In addition, a dirty house is more memorable than a clean house, according to renters. To steer clear of any bad memories, make sure the linens are fresh and the floors are spick and span. The only things a renter will need to bring are clothes and food.

If you have not read my earlier posts about the Honolulu real estate market, then I'm certain you have noticed the national news headlines. Regardless of what you hear, the market is cooling, not crashing. New and existing homes are both selling, although, one year ago, they were selling at a quicker rate and a higher price.

Home sales are predicted to stay at historically high levels, even though sales will shift until the end of this year. March yielded in more sales than past months according to NAR (National Association of Realtors).. A representative from NAR reported that the market is "clearly stabilizing."

Interior design has gone to dark from light. A lot of Honolulu homeowners are switching to shades of black, brown, and grey as opposed to pale woods. From walls to appliances, several things are taking on a darker shade. To some, these darker colors produce a pleasant ambiance and balance the daily stresses of life.

Like any fad, dark decor may one day seem passe. The formica of the 50s and forest greens of the 80s definitely date a room. However, your Honolulu home will be transformed from ordinary to warm and cozy, if done correctly.

Your Honolulu home has a modern kitchen and a backyard designed for entertaining. Putting in an elevator might be the next step. Residential elevators are more common that you would think, specifically among baby boomers.

Elevators found in hotels or apartment buildings, traditional elevators, are expensive. A pneumatic lift is the new, less expensive model. This type is made up of a tall, clear tube with a platform that moves up and down using the force of suction. Elevators take up space and might not be for everyone. However, Some Honolulu homeowners without elevators can't dream of going back.

Nearly half of all seniors utilize the Internet to sell their Honolulu home . The "older" seniors, aged 65 and older are less likely to use the Internet than their "younger" counterparts, aged 50-64. The majority surf the Internet to locate a certain real estate agent, research similar prices, use an online appraisal, or find out about certain neighborhoods. So many seniors move less than 50 miles away and roughly 80 remain within their home state. Florida, Nevada, Arizona, Texas, Georgia, and New Mexico are the most popular states for seniors to move.
